Dear Janet, Jennifer, Jacqui & Joanne,
We were so sorry to read about Vic's passing. Our families have many fond memories of times spent together at Kennisis Lake.
Remember the kid's swimming lessons on those cold August mornings on the beach by the Marina?
There were family BBQ's, lunch and coffee get togethers with the Moms - the time the four of us ladies entered the boat race at the annual regatta and won ribbons! Lots of fun!
Vic loved cottage life and being out on the lake and fishing. Those are memories that the family will cherish. Vic will be missed.
Our thoughts are with you Janet and your family at this difficult time.
Sincerely,
Gladys & Brian Howitt

Dear Mrs. Whiteley, Joanne, Jacquie, Jennifer and families,
My deepest condolences on the passing of your dad. I remember him fondly.
Your beautiful home on Main Street was one of my favourite places growing up. It feels like your dad was kind of imbued in it; his craftsmanship, care and love. I am able to recall the interiors and furnishing today, and it must be 40 years since I was seated at your kitchen table.
My heart goes out to you at this difficult time.
with love and friendship,
Sarah Margolius

Dear Janet, Jennifer, Jacqui and Joanne and Family,
Sending our deepest sympathy.
Vic was always such a pleasure to talk to at our "Weir" Family Get-Togethers.
Always a smile and a chuckle.
Fishing was always a topic Rick and Vic shared.
As you go out on to the Lake in his boat there will be so many happy memories,
especially how that "Big One got away"! He will be smiling down.
Vic will be missed by all.
May He Rest In Peace.
Love to all, hugs
Barb and Rick

I never met Vic but I've had the pleasure and privilege of seeing many photographs and videos of him as I have followed his wonderful daughter Joanne's social media pages since 2015. Even though I did not know Vic personally I could clearly see what an amazing man he was through the utter joy in his eyes whenever he was around his family and Joanne's animals. The love he had for his family and the devotion they showed him was beautiful to witness, albeit on a screen. The way Joanne has talked about her Dad over the years has warmed my heart a million times over. I don't think I've ever seen a father/daughter relationship as special as theirs. He clearly was her hero and taught her how to be the exceptional person she is. And in turn he and Joanne (and Darrin and Janet of course) have moulded Shepherd in to the incredible young man he now is. Shep's bond with his Pa is unparalleled and will never be broken. Vic has instilled so many life affirming qualities in to his girls and his only grandson and he leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, kindness, courage and strength. And it was obvious that even after 59 years he clearly adored Janet and even though he is no longer by her side he will always be in her heart and she in his. I now picture Vic fishing at Kennisis Lake surrounded by Smiley and Pal, and all of the other animals he has loved and lost, smiling and whistling. The world is a poorer place now Vic has left it but Heaven has welcomed the finest fisherman there ever was. Sleep peacefully Vic. Sending love to Janet, Jennifer, Jacqui, Joanne, Darrin and Shepherd.

I will miss Vic immensely at Parkview. He was the “life of the party” when we had anything musical happening. He cared for everyone there (residents and staff). I will miss seeing his family (especially Janet) as we have become very close over the time he lived there. My deepest condolences and love to you all.

So sorry to hear of Vic’s passing. I have a wood peace still that he made me for my wedding in my kitchen. I remember him dancing in the kitchen at the family home on 48 when I would visit. You would always find him in his workshop doing something other times. Always smiling and very helpful to everyone. He will be very missed but never forgot.

My deepest condolences to the family with this great loss. I got to "know" Mr. Whitely because of Smiley and the George's family on social media. But soon it was like I knew the whole family personally, Mr. Whitely was for me a warm, friendly and kind man with so much love for people and so much love for animals and nature. He's reunited with Smiley and Pall and they're gonna have eternal beautiful lives together. Warm hugs from the Netherlands and stay strong. He's watching over you forever.
