Obituary of Rita Saliba

Rita Anne Saliba, 74, of Markham, Ontario, passed away peacefully on January 16 th , 2025, in hospice after a courageous battle with a long-term illness. Rita was born on August 23 rd , 1950, in Qormi, Malta to parents Georgia and Anthony Agius. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, known for her kindness and generosity. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Max Saliba. Her children, Brian, Patrick and his wife Christina. Her grandchildren, Alexandra, Dhalia, and Evelyn. Her siblings Carmel, Salvu, Gina, Cetta, Joseph, France, Vicky, and Janie. Rita was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Salvu.

Rita had a natural ability to excel in everything she did. Rita had a genuine love for gardening and baking. Her garden was quaint and picturesque, and her baking skills were impeccable. She was a master of her talents to say the least. But her true genuine love was for her family, especially her granddaughter’s, and that will never go unseen or forgotten. Please join us in celebrating Rita’s life and legacy. She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Rita’s life will be held on Friday January 24 th , 2025 at 10:30 am at St. Patrick’s Parish in Markham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made online to the Canadian Cancer Society and/or Crohn’s and Colitis Canada.
