NAPIER,  EDWARD  “TED”

May 8, 1935 – April 14, 2024

Ted Napier passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14th at Bendale Acres Long Term Care, with Linda (McKenzie), his wife of 45 years, at his side.  Ted had a very long journey with cancer and dementia.

Father of Debbie Foxton, Bob, Dwight (Lynn), and Marilyn Barlow.  Stepfather to James Bunting (Deborah), and Sarah Wilson (Troy).   Grampy to Bryan Foxton, Patrick (Jess), Colin, Erin Napier, Scott (Ally), Corey and Kyle Barlow, McKenna Blucher Bunting and Sierra, Sydney and Jordyn Wilson. Great Grampy to Charlie N and David, Connor and Charlie P, and Paisley and Aurora.  Predeceased by parents, Elmer and Beryl (Robinson) and siblings Jack (Lorraine), Lois Coke (Bob), Doug (Jean) and Barry.  Survived by Barry’s wife, Wendy. Ted had a busy life with travelling and many career changes.  He ran Napier Ferguson Motors in Markham until the early 80’s.  Among his inventions was the MiniMinit One Cup Coffee and Tea Filter, which he manufactured, sold, and distributed for almost 40 years.  Ted was an active volunteer with the Kiwanis Club of Markham for decades and other projects such as, the Lyndhurst Patient Van Corporation in the 1970’s.

Many thanks to Dr. Bernard Goldberg, Dr. Shawn Soon, Dr. Ann Li, the G.A.I.N. Clinic, and numerous other health professionals. Ted lived at Bendale Acres, 6th floor, from October 2022 to the present.  He was cared for by many kind, dedicated caregivers & other staff.  Angela Silvera, a Social Worker in a contract position at Bendale, helped both Ted and Linda adjust to a very difficult life change.  Family and friends will be received at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home on Saturday May 4th, at noon until the time of service at 1:00pm.

Charitable donations could be made to Bendale Acres LTC, Attention 6th floor, Recreation Funding Lyndhurst Centre-Toronto Rehab-UHN, Directed to the Social Work Department at Lyndhurst, or a charity of your choice.
