Obituary of Frederick George Pike

PIKE, Frederick George - June 30, 1958 - February 2, 2024

Passed away peacefully at Markham-Stouffville Hospital with loved ones by his side after a short but valiant battle with cancer.  He is survived by his life partner Beth Crichton, his mother Suzetta (Suzie) and his siblings Susan (Richard Wannop), Brenda (late Don Hollands) and Nora (Glen Phillips).  He is predeceased by his father John (Jack) Pike and his brother Gord. Fred will also be remembered by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  He had many friends and spent many years enjoying snowmobiling, skiing, playing baseball and bowling. He was a proud member of the Paudash Trailblazers and was occasionally seen stopped along the trail enjoying a beverage.

He loved his time at the family cottage on Chandos Lake where others on the lake would see him on his jet ski on a calm evening.  He was a third generation farmer on the Pike Family Farm in Locust Hill and worked along side John Wade and Robert Ramer. He entered crops in the Markham Fair every year and also exhibited some prize winning apple pies.

Family and friends will be received at the Dixon-Garland Funeral Home, 166 Main Street  Markham North, Markham on Thursday February 22, 2024 from 7-9 pm and Friday February 23, 2024 from 12:30 pm until the time of the service in the chapel at 2 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Markham-Stouffville Hospital or a charity of your choice.
