Always loved and forever missed...

Raymond Bushell

Oct 5, 1930 - Nov 6, 2023

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father Raymond John Bushell. Passed peacefully at Markhaven Nursing Home on Nov 6th. Proud father of Kevin, Wayne, and Michael. Loving husband to Maureen Bushell (nee: Galletley). Born in Old Swan Liverpool on the 5th of October in 1930 to Jack and Ruth Bushell (nee: Wood). Raymond immigrated to Canada in the year of 1952 arriving in Montreal on the Ascania, making his way to Markham where he resided for the remainder of his life.

Raymond was a master plumber by trade and brilliant at his craft. Raymond and Maureen bought their home in Markham in 1956 and raised 3 boys. Raymond was also a gifted piano player and avid bicycle rider who was a member of the merseyside wheelers who competed in a bicycle tour from Montreal to Quebec City in 1954. Raymond was a brilliant father and husband who constantly provided for his family. Not only did he provide for his family but he was also willing and able to help anyone who needed it. He offered his neighbors and friends a helping hand with any handiwork and plumbing issues up until 85 years of age.

Raymond and Maureen remained in the same home for 67 years until moving to Markhaven Nursing Home in June of 2022. Predeceased by his brother Derek, sister Joy and first born son Kevin. Survived by his brothers Norman, Ron, and Ken and his sister June. Raymond made a great impact on the community who will be fondly remembered and sadly missed.

Thank you to all doctors, nurses, and support staff at Markhaven and Markham Stouffville Hospital for everything you have done for Raymond. Also a great thank you to all his friends, family and neighbors for all your love and support throughout the years of his life. Thank you Raymond for being an amazing father teaching us important life values and providing us the great life that you have given us. We know that you are in great company now and forever. Always loved and forever missed. Rest peacefully Dad.

Love,

Kevin, Wayne, Michael and Mum
