Obituary of Ursula Hildegard Vogt

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our precious mother “Mutti” after a long and valiant struggle with Alzheimer’s. Strong and determined, she retained her spirited personality throughout and never lost her sense of connection to those she loved.

The story of her life is filled with the courage, sense of adventure and the hard work of a woman who was dedicated to the support and well-being of her husband Gunter, and children Gabriele, Harold, and Stephen. Straightforward, generous and fun-loving, she adored her grandchildren, Shane and Allison, and was so proud and delighted by their accomplishments. She loved her garden, was a champion bowler, an expert coil-winder and was always, always singing. “Sue” had a great sense of style, and at one time enjoyed cruising to errands in her yellow Corvette with the top down.

In the final years of her life, she was affectionately known as “Sue-Sue” by her dedicated caregivers at Sunrise. Her family will be forever grateful for their loving care during this challenging time.

“Mutti” will be greatly missed by her daughter Gabriele Lynch (Frank), her son Stephen (Amy), grandson Shane Lynch (April, great grandsons Harold and Arthur), granddaughter Allison Lynch and her sister Irmgard Pelka. Ursula is pre-deceased by her husband of 50years, Gunter Vogt and her son Harold Vogt.

A memorial service in her honour will be held in Calgary (date to be announced), and a Celebration of Life to be held in Sutton, Ontario in the summer of 2020 (date to be announced)

“Until we meet again…may God hold you in the palm of His hand…”
